Maker Faire

               Results of Maker Faire
The weekend of 5/16 and 5/17 will be a weekened I will never forget. Along with our booth, there were many other showcases showing their products. Our Maker Faire booth exceeded my expectations by how smooth it went at Maker Faire. We had 3 computers running the game with 2 monitors and a projector. During Maker Faire, we had many people come and play our game mostly in the age group of 10-13 and at a couple of points we had people in lines to play our game. Even though we had a lot of people, we didn't manage our "time shifts" efficiently. For example, at times there would be only 2 people at the booth while sometimes there would be 5.  Next time we can organize a time schedule for every person at Maker Faire. I found many booths to be very inspirational with their products and ideas. The results of the surveys tell me unfortunately that many people will not play this game a second time, but that's alright since we developed this game only in 2 months and this was in beta stage. Next year, I would like to see  maybe a new stage level and better graphics. Being caught in all the excitement of Maker Faire, I took very little documentation of Maker Faire sadly. During Maker Faire many questions arose from people passing by our booth asking questions of how did we make this, what program did we use,how long did it take us to make it, and many more.

Maker Faire

My design for the showcase at Maker Faire has two computers with the goals of the game right by the side. On the top of the poster there would be a banner stating the game's title with a brief description of what the game is about. Beside the computers, there would be a speaker (if necessary) to make sure the user would be able to hear the game.
When we began to create this game for Maker Faire, we divided everyone into two teams. The two teams were the Engineering team and Narrative team and I decided to join the engineering team. In the engineering team I was part of the programming group that would code the necessary parts for the game. My contributions were researching on how we would implement AIs into the game and I helped make the blogger for the game with Vijay Raveendran.
Even though with all the obstacles we encountered, our team managed to pull it off and made a pretty good game (for high schoolers). We just have a few minor problems/glitches that will have to be fixed before Friday.
I wished that we started this game much earlier since we had a short time period to finish this game. Also I wished we had some knowledge on how to use Unity before we started.
I don't really know what my greatest achievement is, but I think it is helping with
Vijay to create the blogger for the game since it looks very professional now for Maker Faire.

Maker Faire Reflection 2

During this week, Vijay and I were working on the WHS Game Design blogger made for Maker Faire. We totally redesigned the blogger making it look much more game-related than before. We can now proudly show off our blogger and impress the people at Maker Faire
