Form Follows Function

My product was to improve a cup where when dew would form on the sides it wouldn't fall on the table, but would be absorbed by the rubber band at the bottom of the glass cup. The cup would come in 3 sizes small, medium, and large and there would be a variety of colors/designs to choose from. I would first form the glass into a cup where there would be a crease near the bottom to place the rubber band. The rubber band would then be placed on the glass cup( once the glass has cooled down) and would be ready to be delivered to the customer. The rubber band is able to be taken off incase it ever gets dirty and you want to wash it. The rubber band reminds of as a coaster you place down on the table so the table doesn't get wet but it is also very different since the rubber band goes along with the cup as the coaster doesn't. It could be better by using a different material instead of rubber maybe a type of sponge that absorbs the dew quicker. The material of the cup could be made of a combination of glass and plastic so the cup would be stronger and won't crack under intense pressure.
