Geometric Constraints Reflection Post

Geometric Constraints Reflection

The shapes we used in this project was mostly triangles with a parallelogram base. The angles that resulted from our triangles were 60 degrees and for the parallelogram was 130 degrees and 50 degrees. The surface area for the shape is 54.2 in^2. We would most likely have a combination of steel and concrete for surrounding the structure and we would need around 40.65 in^2 to cover the structure. The inside of the structure has the same surface area and I am estimating  that 8 people would be able to fit inside of our structure since it is wide. In order to test the strength of the structure we placed 2 notebooks on the top of the structure. The structure slightly tilted to the left but did not collapse under pressure. To follow the "form follows function" practice, we used triangles since they are strong shapes and parallelograms to support the base. Our structure turned out to be great.
